What makes people do things that they regret later?

sometimes when i read the bible i get confused...how can you find out the message that the bible is trying to tell you?

Yes Shelton, we are all sinners and we do not want to sin but sometimes we do. As long as you live you will not ever be perfect. We have to strive to do what God wants us to do. Keep praying to God to ask Him to help you with whatever sin you are struggling with. I will also keep you in my prayers also.

Go read Genesis starting with the first chapter and learn what happen to us. The world was not sinful until man changed it. Read it and let me know what you think. Man broke one of God's commands and this is the result .

Andre there is so much I can tell you about God. What is something specific you would like to know. He loves you and cares about you. He died so you could have a chance to go to heaven. He wants you to talk to Him.

when you know you keep doing a sin over and over again but you try to stop and the more you try it get harder and harder

As I travel to my friend, Bishop William Anthony Cherry's memorial service, I am more determined to fulfill the assignments that God has given me as His messenger and pastor. I have come to far in the ministry to be turned around. Life is too short to be stressed about things you can not change; therefore, you must let go and let God. Do the will of the Master and you will get your blessed reward.

To all the sheep of FBCC, thanks for being a sheep. Thanks for following me as I follow Christ. There is a blessing on the other side of through, so, we must keep marching on. Keep your eyes on Jesus, don't look to the right or to the left. Be encouraged!

Today marks 6 years of ministry at First Baptist Church of Conway. I am most appreciative of this assignment that God has given me. Of course the journey had smooth travelling, as well as road bumps, but I am most encouraged because God placed me here. I have an assignment to accomplish and with God on my side, I will complete it. At this stage of ministry, I am most concern about my final grade with the Lord, I want to hear Him say, "Well, Done!"

I crossed some "ts" and dotted some "I's", and I omitted some "ts" and "I's". In spite of some not understanding the direction God is leading us, I am just trying to accomplish the Master's will. My greatest encouragement is seeing the disciples of FBCC grow and develop into the beings God has for them. 

Today, I thank God for guiding me. I thank God for giving me the strength to stand on the wall and fight spiritual injustices. When my assignment is ended, I want it to be known, that I tried to live and model my testimony, "If I Can Help Somebody, then, my living shall not be in vain." 

I am most appreciative!

God is omniscient  right?? that means he know why everything happens..

So why cant he stop some things people do?

Why is there sin if he know what we are going to do.

Hi, Matali, glad you joined us. Keep the questions coming. I would like for you all to be serious, which you have so far. I will do my best to answer your questions. If there is something I don't know I will try to get the answer for you.

The Bible tells us that God is omniscient, meaing he knows all. God gave us a choice in life to do right or wrong. He gave Adam and Eve this choice also. They chose to do what was wrong in God's eyesight. He told them not to eat of the forbidden fruit. They chose to do the opposite and got punished for it. It is the same way with us.

We will be held accountable for what we do. Yes, He knew they would sin but He gave them free will just like He gives us. He gives us choices. We have to be careful of the choices we make.

Also I like to welcome Johnson, Price, Brian to the family of God.

Angels are normally portrayed in illustrations as having wings, but the Bible normally presents them as appearing like men (and so without wings). For example, three angels appeared to Abraham and at first he thought they were men (Genesis 18:2). Similarly, when an angel appeared to Samson’s parents, they thought he was a “man of God” (Judges 13:9-10). Hebrews 13:2 says that some people have “entertained angels unawares”, indicating that they appear as ordinary human beings.

Sometimes angels appear in white. Examples are John 20:12 and Acts 1:10. But wings are never mentioned.

There is one passage which describes the angel in “swift flight” (Daniel 9:21), but again no wings are mentioned. And there is no reason to think that a spirit being would need wings to fly.

There are two angel-like creatures that do have wings, and this may be the origin of the idea that angels have wings. Cherubim (Exodus 25:20; Ezekiel 10) and Seraphim (Isaiah 6) are both described as having wings. However, these are not angels. Cherubim are living creatures that act as guards to God’s dwelling place. Apart from Genesis 3:24, the other references to cherubim are all to images or visions. Seraphim means “flaming creatures” and are only mentioned in Isaiah 6 — a vision of Isaiah about God’s dwelling place.

Read these scriptures:

(1) Hell was designed originally for Satan and his demons (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10).

(2) Hell will also punish the sin of those who reject Christ (Matthew 13:41,50; Revelation 20:11-15; 21:8).

(3) Hell is conscious torment.

• Matthew 13:50 “furnace of fire…weeping and gnashing of teeth”
• Mark 9:48 “where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched”
• Revelation 14:10 “he will be tormented with fire and brimstone”

(4) Hell is eternal and irreversible.

• Revelation 14:11 “the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever and they have no rest day and night”
• Revelation 20:14 “This is the second death, the lake of fire”
• Revelation 20:15 “If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire”

That is the way some church folk behave. You need to learn what God says. No one is without sin. Romans 3:23. We all have sin and we are not perfect. But as we learn what God wants us to do we can strive to live according to His words.
